"There is nothing more gratifying than helping a child reach their maximum potential which is achieved by empowering them and building self confidence"

~Lauren Brand

Hi, name is Lauren Brand Zabezhinsky, and I have been a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for over a decade.

Growing up in Virginia Beach, VA, I developed a deep appreciation for education and medicine—fields that I believe are the foundation of speech pathology. After earning my degree from Indiana University and a Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida, I honed my skills and passion for helping others during my eight years there.

Speech pathology is more than a career to me; it's a calling that combines my love for education and medicine. Every day, I am privileged to make a profound difference in the lives of my patients and their families. In 2013, my husband and I relocated to Minnesota, where we are raising our two wonderful children.

My professional journey began in 2008 at a private practice in South Florida, where I gained invaluable experience working in hospitals, including Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, charter schools, special education schools, long-term care facilities, and clinics. I have evaluated and treated individuals across the lifespan—from infants to geriatrics. Upon moving to the Twin Cities, I joined the Fairview Health System, where I served in various settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics, catering to patients from birth to geriatrics.

My expertise lies in evaluating and treating speech, language, and feeding disorders in children from birth to 3 years of age, including premature infants. After the birth of my children, I transitioned from the hospital system to establish LB Speech, a small practice dedicated to serving children in my community. In 2020, I proudly opened our office in St. Louis Park.

Growing up in a tight-knit community with strong family values, I learned the importance of empathy and giving back. These principles guide my holistic approach to speech pathology, allowing me to connect deeply with my patients and their families.

In 2018, my daughter was born with a genetic disorder, requiring a multidisciplinary intervention team, including speech pathology. This personal experience has further fueled my commitment to building collaborative, supportive teams for every family I work with because teamwork truly makes the dream work.

At LB Speech, I strive to provide comprehensive, empathetic care, understanding the unique needs of each patient. Together, we can create positive, lasting changes in the lives of the children and families we serve.

Testimonials

“Lauren worked with my son in a way that made him know that she was on his team and cared about his success in a real way. He looked forward to their weekly visits and made incredible progress, which has ultimately led to improved communication and increased confidence. Lauren has been invaluable to our family and I recommend her to any parent seeking speech therapy for their child.”

Lauren S.

“Lauren works miracles!  My son was socially withdrawn at preschool, so his teacher recommended that we begin speech therapy.  She thought that if he spoke more clearly, his peers could understand him better. Once we found Lauren, everything changed. After only a few months, we noticed a huge change in him.  He was making friends, telling us about interactions he had at preschool, and having fewer behavioral issues.  He even participated in show and tell, something he had never done in his 3 years at preschool.  He loved going to play games with Lauren.  ”

Jacey S.

“Lauren has done an excellent job of getting to know my children and uses their interests and their specific needs to steer the therapy sessions. They have fun while they are strengthening their skills, and they always look forward to their time with Lauren.”
